A seriously handsome boy, with amazing red tinges in his rich coat. Ziggy always had a smile on his face, especially when he got
to play with his favourite ball, even at grand age of fourteen.
This commission helped raise funds for BowMeow,
a local non-profit group providing voluntary support to help
people care for their pets. Click on image for larger view.
I started painting animal portraits under the name Painted Pets in 2006. My portraits are by commission and are painted only from photographs. The works are realistic but composed and painted in a contemporary style. Rich vibrant colours are built into many layers to create the depth required to capture an individual character and personality.
Each portrait is hand-painted on double-primed stretched canvas with a 38 mm profile. I use only artist quality materials (these have the strongest, most lustrous and stable colours). Your painting has painted edges so framing isn't required (unless you choose to do so). All works are light weight and ready to hang.
I live and paint in the inner suburbs of Sydney. I studied fine art and design at Hornsby and Randwick TAFE Colleges, finishing with a degree in
graphic design, a field in which I have practiced for over 25 years. I have been drawing and painting all my life, and since 2006 I've had successful exhibitions both in Sydney and regional art galleries. I have a partner and we have adopted a new cat who has just turned one.
